Operation Instructions
Initial Setup
1. Turn Off Power: Turn off power to the heating/air conditioning system.
2. Mount Panel: Mount near HVAC equipment, level for appearance. Use base as template, drill holes 4.5” apart, attach with screws/anchors.
3. Configure System:
- Open J1 for dual transformer installations.
- Open J2 for system test (replace for short cycle protection).
- Set DIP switches per system requirements (refer to table/diagram).
Operating the Controller
1. Status LEDs: Heartbeat flashes once/second; RH/RC lit if powered; 24V Power lit; Damper green (open)/red (closed).
2. Zone Operation: No calls: all dampers open. Calls: corresponding dampers open, others close.
3. Purge Cycle: 90 seconds at end of call; no new calls answered.
4. Staging: Automatic based on time.
5. Emergency Heat: Switch to ON for heat pumps; cooling calls ignored.
Note: Use with compatible thermostats and dampers.
Temperature Display Adjustment
Not applicable; this is a zone controller without temperature display. Temperature control via connected thermostats.
Troubleshooting
- No Operation: Ensure Emergency Heat off, J2 open for test, DIP switches correct, no zones calling, power LED lit.
- No Heat/Cool: Verify thermostat calls, damper LEDs, air flow. Test zones individually.
- Fan Constant: Check fan control settings, wiring.
- Erratic Operation: Check voltage, fuse, wiring. Reset power.
- LED Issues: Heartbeat not flashing: power/wiring issue. Damper LEDs wrong: check damper wiring/power.
- Buttons/Switches Not Working: Verify connections; contact support.
Installation Instructions
Warning: Turn off power before installation. For experienced technicians only. Use only with described systems; conform to local codes.
Remove Old Controller
- Turn off power. Disconnect wiring, note connections. Remove old mounting hardware and controller.
Installing New Controller
- Mount base near HVAC, level, drill holes, secure.
- Wire panel: Connect thermostats (Y, G, W/O/B, R, C per zone), HVAC equipment, dampers, transformer.
- Configure jumpers/DIP switches.
- Push excess wire back.
- Apply power, test system.
Battery Location
- Not applicable; hardwired only, no batteries.
Power Options
Hardwired with dedicated 24 VAC transformer.
Controller Power Method | Description |
Hardwired | Runs on 24 VAC from zoning transformer. |
Caution: Size transformer for dampers. Use slave relay if over 35 VA. Do not short terminals.
