Operation Instructions

Initial Setup

1. Insert Batteries: Install two "AA" alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
2. Power On: If hardwired, connect 24 VAC to the C terminal. The display should show the current temperature.
3. Configure System:

• Set installer switches on the back: CONV/HP for system type, F/C for temperature units, HG/HE for gas/electric heat.
• Press RESET after changes.

Operating the Thermostat

1. Select Mode: Use SYSTEM switch to choose HEAT, COOL, or OFF.
2. Fan Mode: Use FAN switch to choose AUTO or ON.
3. Adjust Temperature: Press UP/DOWN arrows to set desired temperature.
4. Verify Operation: In HEAT, set above room temp; "HEAT ON" displays. In COOL, set below; "COOL ON" displays.
Note: No programming features as this is non-programmable.

Temperature Display Adjustment

The thermostat has +/-1°F accuracy, but no specific calibration menu. Use a separate thermometer to verify. Relocate if near drafts or heat sources.

Troubleshooting

Installing New Thermostat

1. Separate thermostat from sub-base.
2. Mount sub-base on wall, mark and drill holes, use anchors if needed.
3. Connect wires to terminals per system type (e.g., Rh for heat power, W1 for heat relay, Y1 for compressor).
4. Set installer switches (CONV/HP, F/C, HG/HE).
5. Push excess wire back, plug hole with insulation to prevent drafts.
6. Snap thermostat onto sub-base. Insert quick reference card.

Battery Location

• Batteries included; compartment on back. Replace when low battery indicator shows. Use alkaline "AA" batteries.
• If unoccupied for long periods, replace batteries before leaving.

Power Options

Use 24V AC for primary power with batteries as backup, or batteries only.
